The men's soccer team reappears at #17 on the New York University Top-50 Varsity Highlight List of the 2019-20 season with its road win over Carnegie Mellon University on October 12.
The squad originally made the list at #35 with its victory over Hood College in the ECAC Tournament and again at #27 with its shutout win over Washington University in St. Louis on October 18.
This time, the Violets made the list for their 1-0 victory over the Tartans.The win in Pittsburgh,PA, was NYU's first in the series since October 26, 2007, when the Violets defeated the Tartans 2-1.
The lone goal of the contest was scored by
Maxi Rodriguez (Chula Vista, CA/St. Augustine) in the 72nd minute of play off of a feed from
Sergio Monton (Madrid, Spain/Fundacion Fomento).
The victory was NYU's fifth straight in the midst of a season-high six-game winning streak. It also left the Violets 2-0 in the University Athletic Association (UAA).
