The men's soccer team's victory over Hood College in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship is #35 on the New York University Top-50 Highlight List of the 2019-20 varsity sports season.

The Violets, who earned a postseason bid for the fourth consecutive season, faced Hood in the opening round on November 16 in a match hosted by Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA.

Sophomore Louis Meeks (Ann Arbor, MI/Greenhills School) put the Violets ahead in the first half. Evan Lewis (La Jolla, CA/La Jolla ) doubled NYU's advantage in the second half, which proved necessary as the Blazers scored a late goal to make the final score 2-1.

The Violets' then advanced to the second round, but fell to host Muhlenberg 1-0.
