A Violet Legacy Unleashed

Tear It Up!, an NYU Athletics tradition established in 2005, returns for the 2025-26 season! These events give new and returning members of the NYU community special opportunities throughout the academic year to cheer on their fellow Violets on the court, on the field, and in the pool. Tear It Up! Events will encompass all of our varsity programs, with Violets giveaways, food, and special guest appearances.

Tear It Up! - BLACKOUT Men's and Women's Basketball

Tear It Up! for our first basketball event of 2026, and it's a BLACKOUT. On Friday, January 30, come down to Paulson to celebrate the end of the first week of Spring Classes with NYU Basketball as they take on Case Western Reserve University. Fans will receive an exclusive BLACKOUT t-shirt, along with free food, as well as additional prizes, contests, and giveaways throughout the night! As always, the NYU Bobcat will be on hand to lead crowd as we cheer on the Violets!

The event gets started at 5:00 PM, with Men's Basketball tipping off at 5:30 PM, followed by Women's Basketball at 7:30 PM. Remember to wear black, cheer loud, and we'll see you at Paulson!
