Revealing of NYU's Top-50 Varsity Sports Highlights Continues

Women's Tennis Makes First Appearance at #34

Next up on the New York University Top-50 list of varsity sports highlights from 2019-20 is the women's tennis team's win over Southern Virginia University on March 7.

The 8-1 victory represented the final match of the season for the Violets, whose season ended abruptly due to the coronavirus pandemic. It lifted NYU's record to a perfect 4-0 in dual matches and the team's final-season national ranking to a best-ever #17 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

The Violets jumped out early in their final competition, winning all three doubles matches and then taking five of six singles en route to the 8-1 victory.

The win was also special because it was registered on the team's annual Family/Senior Day, as graduating seniors Anandini Chawla (New Delhi, India/Vasant Valley School), Rupa Ganesh (San Jose, CA/Lynbrook), Judy Kam (Beijing, China/University), and Coco Kulle (Vienna, Austria/Choate Rosemary Hall (CT)) all saw action in their final collegiate competition.

A complete recap of the match can be found here.
