The New York University men's basketball team secured its first University Athletic Association (UAA) win of the season with an 80-79 road victory over Carnegie Mellon University on February 7 in Pittsburgh, PA.

After overcoming an early 11-point deficit, the Violets still trailed by four at halftime and then by eight with just over 14 minutes remaining.

NYU continued to chip away at the lead, and when Nick Macarchuk's (Alamo, CA/St. Thomas Moore Prep) three-pointer snapped a 75-75 tie with 1:40 left the Violets never trailed again.

Four players scored in double-figures for the visitors, while six scored at least eight points.
