Men's Fencing Makes Highlight List Debut

Perfect Record at Eric Sollee Invite is #30

The men's fencing team makes its debut on the New York University Top-50 Varsity Sports Highlight List of 2019-20 at #30 with its perfect day at the Eric Sollee Invitational.

Competing on February 1 at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, the Violets defeated all six of their opponents on the day. Among the victims were Division I teams from Brown University (18-9), the University of Pennsylvania (14-13) and Boston College (20-7).

NYU was also victorious over host (and University Athletic Association opponent) Brandeis (16-11), MIT (14-13) and Haverford College (22-5).     

Grant Williams (Atlanta, GA/The Galloway School) led the Violets with 15 sabre victories. Ian Sanders (Wilton, CT/Wilton) added 14 epee wins, while Owen McKenna (New Hope, PA /Germantown Academy) led the foil team with nine victories.

The six wins lifted NYU's overall record to 17-7 on the season.
