Women's Cross Country Team Returns to Top-50 List

Moran Wins Individual Title at Paul Short Invite

Coming in at #26 on the New York University Varsity Sports Top-50 Highlight List for 2019-20 is the women's cross country team's impressive performance at the Paul Short Invitational, which was hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, on October 5.

The Violets earned a second-place team finish with a total of 175 points, trailing only Haverford College (157) in the 41-team race.

Siena Moran took home her second individual win of the season, crossing the finish line of the 6k course in 21:52.4. She beat the second-place finisher by 18 seconds, despite being neck-and-neck with under a mile to go.

Moran, who went on to be named University Athletic Association (UAA) Cross Country Rookie of the Year, First Team All-UAA and All-Atlantic Region, bested a field of 342 runners.

Leah Haley (Windsor, CA/Montgomery) finished in 25th place (22:59.5) and Milly Ames (Chapel Hill, NC/Chapel Hill) took 27th (23:01.7) for NYU.
