Women's Volleyball Reappears on Top-50 List

Violets' Kean Invitational Title is #24

The women's volleyball team makes its second appearance on the New York University Top-50 Highlight List of 2019-20 at #24 with its championship performance at the Kean Invitational on September 13-14.

The squad had originally appeared on the list at #42 with its season-opening sixth straight win (against Skidmore College) on September 7.

After suffering its first loss of the season to Springfield College (also on September 7), the Violets went on to compete at the Kean Invitational in Union, NJ, the following weekend. Not only did the team proceed to win all four of its matches at the competition, but NYU did not drop a single set.

The Violets defeated Gettysburg College and Moravian College on Friday the 13th, then swept Lycoming College and host Kean University on Sunday the 14th.

Freshman Haley Holz (Palatine, IL /Palatine) was named Tournament MVP, while junior Jacqueline Kupeli (Danville, CA/Monte Vista) was also an All-Tournament honoree.

The four victories over the weekend lifted the Violets' record to an impressive 10-1.

Additional details of the Violets' outstanding performance at the invitational can be found here.
