The New York University Top-50 countdown of the 2019-20 season's varsity sports highlights continues with #39, the men's golf team's victory at the Duke Nelson Invitational on September 14-15.
Playing at the at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, VT, the Violets out-distanced the 23-team field by 10 strokes.
NYU's two-day total of 579 was 10 strokes better than second-place Williams College's. It represented the second-lowest 36-hole score in team history, while the Violets' second-round 288 also tied for second-lowest in team annals.
Robbie Keyes (Louisville, KY/duPont Manual) finished in second place individually, and his three-under-par round of 68 on day two was tied for the second-lowest in team history.
NYU also sported two more top-10 finishers, as
Chris Lee (Palisades Park, NJ/Bergen Catholic) tied for eight place and
Alan Chen (Freemont, CA/Mission San Jose) tied for 10th.
