Victoria Wang Set for NCAA Singles Championship

Sophomore Will Compete in 32-Player Singles Field Beginning Friday in Chattanooga

NYU sophomore Victoria Wang is set to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships this weekend at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Hosted by The University of the South, the individual championship will take place May 22-25.

The NCAA singles championship field features 32 players from across the country, with selections based on win-loss record, strength of schedule, and overall body of work throughout the season.

Wang is scheduled to face Lauren Long of Washington & Lee University in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship on Friday at 10:30 AM CT. The winner will advance to the Round of 16 later today at approximately 2:30 PM CT.

Wang earned her place in the national championship field after posting a 16-9 singles record this season while earning Second Team All-UAA honors. Earlier this year, she qualified for the ITA Cup for the second consecutive season and finished tied for 11th nationally during the fall championship event.

"Victoria had a lot of success in the fall, reaching the finals of our regional tournament and advancing to the ITA Cup, where she secured a key victory," said Head Coach Horace Choy.

One of Wang's biggest moments of the season came during the UAA Championship against Brandeis University. With the team score tied 3-3, Wang rallied from multiple deficits in her singles match to clinch the deciding point for the Violets.

"Against Brandeis, she found herself down 3-0 and 4-0 in tiebreaks, but she fought back for her teammates," Choy said. "Her desire to not let the team down definitely propelled her to that victory."

NYU finished the season with a 10-5 overall record and ranked No. 24 nationally in the final ITA Division III team rankings. The Violets also recorded multiple ranked wins throughout the season.
