The New York University men's golf team opened play at the St. Lawrence University Invitational on Saturday, September 5. The Violets are competing at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course in Canton, NY.
NYU sits in fifth place out of 13 teams after the opening round with a score of 301 (+13).
Tanmay Chandra led NYU with a one-over-par 73, tying for 11th in the individual standings after day one.
Bryan Zhao, competing as an individual, also carded a 73 (+1) and is tied for 11th.
Qi (Steven) Liu followed with a 75 (+3), tied for 20th, and
Bo Dong posted a 76 (+4), tied for 23rd.
Jomyuth Luangtana-anan carded a 77 (+5), tied for 33rd, while
Ryan Zhao shot an 80 (+8), tied for 51st.
George Zhou also competed for NYU and recorded an 84 (+12), tied for 73rd.
Overall, 88 golfers are competing.
The Violets will return to action on Sunday, September 6, for the final round. Play is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course
