The New York University women's golf team continued its spring season at the Liberty League Championship on Saturday, April 26, at Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland, NY.
The Violets started off the two-day tournament with a cumulative score of +14 and are tied for first place. The winner of the tournament gets an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.
NYU had an excellent round finishing third, fourth, fifth, and sixth individually.
The best round of the day went to
Tiya Chowdary. She carded a +2 and is in third place after the first round. She leads the tournament in birdies after round one with three.
Srishti Dhurandhar followed right behind with a score of +3, ending in fourth after the first round. She shot -2 over the front nine, and also ended the round with three birdies.
Nalinda Wanikpun and
Naomi Tan were the other two scorers for NYU. Wanikpun shot +4 and is in fifth place, while Tan went +5 and is in sixth.
The Violets will next hit the links tomorrow for the second round of the Liberty League Championship, with the the first tee time for NYU slated to start at 12:00pm.
