Two members of New York University's women's golf team have earned weekly honors for their exploits over the weekend at the Williams College Fall Invitational.
Senior
Tiya Chowdary was named Athlete of the Week by the University Athletic Association (UAA) and Performer of the Week by the Liberty League, while freshman
Inha Jun was chosen Rookie of the Week by the Liberty League.
Chowdary posted a fourth-place individual finish at Williams. She shot +4 over Saturday's and Sunday's two rounds, including a one-over par on Saturday.
Jun posted a seventh-place finish, going +6 over the two rounds by shooting +3 in each.
The duo's performances helped lead NYU to a second-place finish in the 20-team competition.
Overall, 98 golfers competed at the invitational.
The Violets are currently ranked
#5 in the nation in the most recent Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Poll.
The squad returns to action on Monday and Tuesday, October 6-7, for the Carnegie Mellon Invitatiional in Farmington, PA.
