The New York University women's golf team held firm in the final round of the NCAA Preview tournament on Sunday.
NYU concluded its first stroke play tournament of the season on Sunday at the host site of the 2026 NCAA National Championship. The Violets placed third overall out of 15 teams, after completing two even-par rounds.
UAA foes Carnegie Mellon (-16) and Emory (-3) rounded out the top three of the two-round tournament, held on the Firecliff Course at the Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, CA.
Naomi Tan led the charge for the Violets on Sunday. Tan opened the day dropping a stroke with a bogey on her first hole, but played nearly flawlessly from there, scoring six birdies and just one more bogey. The sophomore climbed seven places in the individual standings with a -4 68 round, finishing second overall with a -5 tournament score.
After leading the field on Sunday,
Jiayi Fu stumbled out of the game with bogeys on three of her first holes. Fu recovered with a pair of birdies to close out the front nine and finished the day with a +1 73. She places sixth overall with a -2 tournament score.
Tiya Chowdary stabilized after a rocky Saturday round, turning in a +1 38 on Sunday. She used two birdies in her final nine holes to move up 25 spots on the leader board and finish in 36th place overall with a +8 tournament score.
Inha Jun rounded out the scoring for NYU, scoring a +2 74 on Sunday and a +7 tournament score. Jun placed 33rd overall, moving up 19 places.
Srishti Dhurandhar competed independently in the tournament, placing 20th overall (+3) after a +1 73 round on Sunday.
The Violets return to action over the final weekend of September at the Williams College Fall Invitational, hosted by Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, MA.
