The New York University women's golf team finished in second place at the Max & Susan Stith Invitational, which was hosted by Randolph-Macon University on Monday and Tuesday, March 31-April 1, in Richmond, VA.
Played at The Dominion Club, the Violets finished second out of 15 teams, shooting a combined +23 for the tournament. They gained three strokes on first-place Carnegie Mellon University on Tuesday, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.
Two players ranked in the top three, and four in the top 25.
Tiya Chowdary finished tied for first place after carding a +5 on the day. She finished the two days at +4, tying her with Carnegie Mellon's Samantha Wang for the top spot.
Naomi Tan ended in a tie for third place at +5 overall.
Nalinda Wanikpun (+12) and
Kelly Jing (+13) also scored for the Violets and tied for 21st and 24th places, respectively. Wanikpun's round on Tuesday included two birdies.
The Violets will next hit the links at the Jack Leaman Invitational, hosted by Amherst College in Amherst, MA, on Saturday-Sunday, April 12-13.
