The New York University women's golf team wrapped up the second and final round of the Tartan Invitational on Tuesday, October 8, at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort – Mystic Rock Golf Course in Pittsburgh, PA.
The Violets,
currently ranked #15 in the nation, completed the tournament in fourth place with a team score of +45 overall. NYU shot +20 on Tuesday, five strokes better than its Round 1 score of +25.
Host (and top-ranked) Carnegie Mellon University finished ahead in third at +24, while #19 Methodist University trailed the Violets in fifth at +49.
Emory University,
ranked #2 nationally, continued to dominate the 12-team field, securing first place with a score of +18 on the par-72 course.
Individually, junior
Srishti Dhurandhar led the way for NYU and finished in 14th place with a total score of +10. After carding +7 in Round 1, she improved to +3 in Round 2, which included three birdies.
Freshman
Naomi Tan and junior
Tiya Chowdary tied for 18th place with overall scores of +11. Tan posted +7 in Round 1 and then shot +4 in Round 2 while adding three birdies. Chowdary recorded +4 in Round 1 and a +7 in Round 2, contributing two birdies to her scorecard over the final 18 holes.
Freshman
Kelly Jing improved in Round 2, finishing 38th with a total of +17 after a +6 performance in the final round.
Senior
Madison Phung ended the tournament in 49th place at +22, with +7 in Round 1 and +15 in Round 2, notching three birdies in the final round.
Washington University in St. Louis' Sydney Kuo continued her excellent form, finishing first individually with a four-under-par performance.

Brad Johnson. "I'm proud of the entire team for securing fourth place against some of the top competition in the country."
The Violets have now completed their fall schedule and will return to the course in March when they compete at the Jekyll Invitational in Georgia.
