Women's Tennis All-American Completed NYU Career as All-Time Wins Leader

Jimena Menendez, who graduated as the all-time wins leader in New York University women's tennis history, has also closed out her historic NYU career with another first.

The native of Miami, FL, completed the 2024-25 season ranked #11 in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles rankings, the highest plateau ever achieved by an NYU women's tennis player.

Menendez reached the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Individual Singles Championship Tournament last month, the furthest any Violet has ever gone. She defeated ITA #7 Sahana Raman of Middlebury College, ITA #10 Fiona Lee of MIT, and ITA #34 Jay Xiao from Johns Hopkins University before falling to ITA #3 Jacqueline Soloveychik of Wesleyan University in the national semifinal

NYU's all-time wins leader spent the entirety of the season in the top 15, reaching as high as #7. She compiled a 22-4 record during the 2024-25 campaign and jumped 14 spots from her final ranking of #25 after the 2023-24 season

Menendez graduated in May with a Computer Science major from NYU's College of Arts and Science. She ended her career with a 63-18 (.777) singles record, compiling the most victories in program history.
