For the second straight round, NYU's women's golf team sits in 11th place after the conclusion of play on day three of the NCAA Division III Championship at the par-72, 5,866-yard Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, TX.
The Violets shot a 312 on Thursday for a three-round total of 928. NYU trails 10th-place Centre College by just one stroke and leads 12th-place Washington & Lee by four.
NYU made the cut as the tournament is now reduced to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on an advancing team.
Aliea Clark, who topped the field after round two, now sits in a tie for sixth after carding a 77 today. She was one-under par in each of the first two rounds, but her three-day total of 219 (+3) is still just four strokes out of first. The California native was even after the first nine holes, but a double bogey and bogey on the final two of the day dropped her in the standings.
Michelle Zhou is tied for 28th as the only other Violet among the top 30. She shot a 78 in round three, bringing her total to 228.
Summer Yang had her best round of the Championship thus far, carding a 75 for an overall score of 238 which is tied for 62nd.
Madison Phung (T86th, 245) and Liberty League Player and Rookie of the Year
Nalinda Wanikpun (T94th, 247) scored an 82 and 84 today, respectively.
UAA rival Emory leads the pack by a wide margin as its total of 879 is 24 strokes ahead of the second-place team.
