New York University's men's and women's golf teams concluded the second round of play at the Jekyll Island Invitational, taking place at the Jekyll Island Golf Club on the Georgia coast.
NYU's
13th-ranked women are in eighth out of 24 teams, matching their first round score with 301 strokes on day two.
Nalinda Wanikpun jumped six spots, sitting in a four-way tie for 13th individually. She improved by a stroke today, shooting one-over par 73.
Mimi Chen was the Violets' biggest riser of the day, climbing 12 spots as she's tied for 20th behind a one-over par 73 in the second round.
Aliea Clark and
Madison Phung shot 77 and 78, respectively, both claiming a two-day total of 153 strokes and are tied for 38th.
The
20th-ranked Violet men are in 20th (out of 30) as a team after 36 holes, improving by six strokes today (294).
Joseph Burlison and
Robbie Keyes are locked in a tie for 28th individually. Burlison shot a par-72 for a two-day total of 143 while Keyes slipped a bit in the second round (73), dropping 15 spots on the leaderboard.
Jorge Montero found his stroke today, improving by 19 places (t-109th) with a three-over par 75.
Andy Yang also had a stronger second round, after shooting 81 yesterday, with a score of 74 (two-over par) to rise 14 spots.
Chris Lee bounced back as well, shooting 76 in the second round for a two-day total of 156 and jumping 10 places on the leaderboard.
A group of Violet golfers are also competing in the Individual Invitational, separate from the team scoring tournament.
On this side of the course,
Charlotte Kwong is tied for first place in the women's field after shooting 76 in the second round for a two-day total of 154.
Michelle Zhou (fifth) and
Isabel Herrera (t-sixth) are also among the top six.
In the men's individual tournament,
Kevin Kim sits tied for second as he shot par-72 in the second round and
Charles Hsieh is tied for sixth with a two-day total of 149 strokes.
The third and final round of play at Jekyll Island tees off tomorrow morning.
