The New York University Women's Golf Team is in third place after the first round of the NYU Invitational, which the Violets are hosting at the Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, NJ, on Saturday and Sunday, October 16-17.
The Violets shot 321 over the par-72, 5,826-yard course.
Williams College (296) leads after Saturday's round, with Wellesley College (315) sitting in second place of the seven-team affair.
Individually, the Ephs are holding onto the top-four spots, with Tianyi Zhuang leading the way with a par-72.
NYU's
Mimi Chen (Lake Mary, FL/Lake Mary Prep) shot 75 and is tied for third place with two Williams golfers.
Next up for the Violets is
Michelle Zhou (Southlake, TX/Carroll), playing as an individual, who shot 78 and is in seventh place.
Summer Yang (San Diego, CA/Torrey Pines), also paying as an individual, shot 79 and is also among the top-10 (tied for eighth place).
Scoring for NYU was
Madison Phung (Frisco, TX/Lebanon Trail) (81), Isabele Herrera (82) and
Camilla Chung (San Francisco, CA/St. Ignatian College Prep) (83).
"I'm disappointed in the way we played today, but I'm optimistic that we'll get back on track tomorrow," said Head Coach
Katie Rudolph.
The second and final round of the tournament is set to tee-off at 1:00 pm Sunday afternoon.
