The New York University men's golf team sits in third place after the first day of competition at the 2025 Liberty League Championships on Saturday, April 26. 

The League Championships are hosted this season by Hobart College at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y. 

Competing teams only completed the back nine holes at Turning Stone on Saturday due to inclement weather. After 27 holes, the Violets held in third place with a cumulative +5 score. 

The University of Rochester squad leads after day two with a -4 score, followed by Rensselaer Polytechnic (RPI) at even par.

Kevin Kim and Oscar Uribe led the way for the Violets, each finishing at -2 through two rounds. 

Kim turned in a -1 35 for his nine holes on Saturday, scoring birdies on holes 10 and 16. Uribe birdied the 18th hole to move to an even-par 36 on the back nine. 

Kim and Uribe are among five golfers tied for second place at -2 for the weekend. Luke Evans of Rochester leads the field at -3. 

NYU's Ajeet Bagga finished round two at +3 for the tournament after scoring a +1 37 on Saturday. Bagga recorded birdies holes 10, 16 and 18, but was unable to improve his standing for the weekend after a double bogey on hole 17. He sits in 14th place heading into Sunday. 

Ryan Leung sits at +9 for the weekend after turning in a +2 37 in round two. He will begin his Sunday round in 28th place. 

The Violets' fifth golfer, Jomyuth Luangtana-anan, holds in 22nd place individually after a +3 39 on Saturday. 

The final round of the Liberty League Championships is set to begin on Sunday, April 27, at 11:00 a.m.
