The New York University men's golf team closed out the RPI College Invitational on Monday, October 6.
The two-day tournament was held at Shaker Ridge Country Club in Loudonville, NY, and hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
NYU had the best score in round two, jumping two spots to second place out of 14 teams, with four individual Violets placing in the top 20.
"This team has incredibly strong competitors, and I'm proud of their performance," said Head Coach
Brad Johnson. "We couldn't ask for a better overall team both on and off the course."
Qi Liu jumped up to second place individually and was the low scorer for the Violets, shooting even par on Monday after shooting +3 on Sunday. He added five birdies to his tally and ended the tournament with the most (9).
Jomyuth Luangtana-anan and
Oscar Uribe were the second and third finishers for the Violets, as the former shot +5 and finished 10th, while the latter shot +3 and finished 15th place.
Bryan Zhao bounced back with a +1 on Monday after shooting +10 on Sunday. He finished the tournament in 18th place.
The Violets continue their fall season at the Skidmore Invitational, hosted by Skidmore College at Saratoga Spa Golf Course in Saratoga Springs, NY, starting Oct. 11. Tee time is set for 10:00 am.
