The New York University men's golf team continued its spring season at the Liberty League Championship on Friday, April 25, at Shanendoah Golf Course in Verona, NY.
The Violets started off the three-day tournament with a cumulative score of +3 and are tied for second place .
NYU have two players in the top five, and four in the top 25.
The best round went to
Oscar Uribe, who shot a -2 and ended the day tied for second place. He had four birdies, including on hole 18 to close out his card.
Kevin Kim finished round one tied for fourth. He carded five birdies, the most on the day, on his way to shooting a -1.
Ajeet Bagga and
Jomyuth Luangtana-anan also scored for the Violets. Bagga shot a +2 and is in 12th place, while Luangtana-anan carded a +4 and ranks 21st.
All four scoring athletes birdied the longest hole on the course, hole 8. As a team, the Violets crushed the par fives, totaling a -9 over those holes. They also led the round in birdies with 18.
The Violets will next hit the links tomorrow for the second round of the Liberty League Championship, with the the first tee time for NYU slated to start at 12:50pm.
