The New York University men's golf team finished play at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational on Sunday, April 13. The two-day tournament was hosted by Skidmore College at Ballston Spa Country Club in Ballston Spa, NY.
With both rounds completed, the Violets finished in third place overall with a cumulative +5 score.
Jomyuth Luangtana-anan was the star of the day, shooting a -6 on Sunday,and -8 for the weekend. He finished with six birdies and no bogeys in Sunday's round.
Luangtana-anan ended the weekend on a high note, making birdie on his last two holes, giving him sole possession of first place. His tournament card of -8 is an NYU program record, the lowest ever score over 36 holes.
Kevin Kim (-1) was also a bright spot for the Violets in the final round, finishing fifth overall. Kim started the day hot, with birdies in three of his first nine holes. Kim slowed down as day progressed, with only one birdie in the back nine, but had an overall strong weekend after shooting -2 on Saturday.
Both
Ryan Leung and and
Oscar Uribe each contributed to the final overall scoreline. Both players improved on their day-one results, with Leung shooting +2, and Uribe a +4. They finished the weekend +7 and +9, respectively.
The Violets will next hit the links next Saturday, April 19, at the Farmingdale State College Spring Invitational hosted by Farmingdale State College in Bethpage, NY.
