New York University senior diver Meera Kasturi was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on Monday, October 27.

The Violets' captain was honored for her outstanding performance at the RPI Invitational on Saturday.

Kasturi was a champion and a runner-up in her two diving events on Saturday. In a competition which consisted of four schools, the White Plains, NY, native won the 1-meter dive with a score of 278.55.

In the 3-meter, Kasturi placed second with a 265.15-point total.

She secured NCAA regional-qualifying scores in both events.

Kasturi also received UAA Athlete of the Week honors on October 13.
