The New York University men's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Flower City Preview on Sunday, September 22, at the Midvale Country Club in Penfield, NY.
The Violets concluded the day in 13th place, recording scores of +4 in Round 1 and +5 in Round 2, resulting in an overall total of +9.
NYU is currently four strokes behind 12th-place Hampden-Sydney College at +5 and three strokes ahead of Franklin & Marshall College, who sits in 14th place at +12.
Emory University leads the 16-team field at 31-under par.
Individually, sophomore
Jomyuth Luangtana-anan stood out for NYU, carding -2 in Round 1 and -1 in Round 2, which has him in 19th place overall—the best performance for the team in the tournament.
Freshman
Oscar Uriba also had a solid showing, finishing even-par in Round 1 and -2 in Round 2, landing him in 22nd place.
Freshmen
Ajeet Bagga and
Shray Patel are tied for 72nd at +8, with similar scores of +3 in Round 1 and +5 in Round 2. Junior
Ishaan Shroff concluded the day at +9 overall, placing 76th after rounds of +6 and +3.
Emory's Brian Hanson leads the 90-player field with a score of -12 on the par-72 course.
The Violets will return to the course for the final round of the Flower City Preview at Cobbleskill Creek Country Club in Victor, NY, on Monday, September 23, with the first tee time set for 7:45 am.
