The New York University men's golf team improved to 13th place after the final round of the Duke Nelson Invitational on Sunday, September 15, hosted by Middlebury College at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, VT.
The Violets were in 16th place after Saturday's opening round.
Overall, NYU finished with a combined score of +47 over the two rounds and was two strokes behind 12th-place Middlebury. The Violets finished six strokes ahead of St. Lawrence University.
Hamilton College won the 23-team competition with a final score of +25.
Sophomore Jomyuth Luangtana-anan led the charge for NYU after shooting a one-under par 70 in Round 2, the team's best round of the tournament. He finished in 18th place individually with an overall score of +8. Freshman Shray Patel followed in 40th place at +12, while junior Ishaan Shroff and freshman Oscar Uriba tied at 63rd with scores of +15.
Junior Ryan Leung rounded out the team with a score of +17, placing 77th.
Hamilton's Ramon Aroca Gonzalez won among 120 competitors with a total score of -2.
The Violets are set to compete in the NCAA Division III Preview at Midvale Country Club from Saturday-Monday, September 21-23, in Fairport, NY.
