The New York University men's golf team is on top of the leaderboard after round one of the Farmingdale Spring Invitational, which is being held on Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21, at the Bethpage State Park Red Course in Bethpage, NY.
As a team, the Violets shot five-over-par 285 and are five strokes ahead of second-place St. Lawrence University.
Overall, nine teams and 54 golfers are competing.
NYU's
Drew Clark is in first place after registering the day's only sub-par round. He shot one-under 69 and is one stroke ahead of Nichols College's Colby MItchell.
A pair of Violets are tied for third place, as both
Ryan Leung and
Jomyuth Luangtana-anan carded one-over-par 71.
Kevin Kim (74) is tied for 16th place and
Mark Zhang (78) is tied for 33rd.
Ishaan Shroff is also competing for NYU and is tied for 38th after shooting 79.
Sunday's second and final round is set to begin at 9:00am.
