Krause and Fordham Named ITA All-America

Duo led NYU to a historic 2022-23 season

Ida Krause and Dakota Fordham of New York University's women's tennis team were named All-America by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) after helping lead the Violets to their first-ever berth to the NCAA Championship as part of a record-breaking 2022-23 campaign.

Both Krause and Fordham independently received the honor for singles while the duo was named All-America in doubles as well.

The tandem set a new single-season program record with 23 doubles victories while Krause's 21 singles wins also broke the single-season record.

Krause earned her accolade in by claiming the singles title at the ITA Northeast Regionals in the fall while Fordham secured selection by winning her opening match at the 2022 ITA Cup.

In doubles, the pair won the ITA Northeast crown this past fall to guarantee All-America status. Fordham is now a four-time All-American after winning the ITA Northeast singles and doubles titles as a rookie while Krause has achieved the honor in her first year as a Violet after transferring from the University of Wyoming.

The 2022-23 campaign was a landmark one for NYU, thanks in large part to Fordham and Krause, as the team qualified for the NCAA Championship as a team for the first time in its history after a best-ever third-place finish at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship.

NYU fell to Kenyon College in the opening round while Krause and Fordham competed in the NCAA Individual Championship as a doubles team and Krause continued in the individual singles bracket.

The pair won their opening doubles match before falling in the quarterfinals to cap off an exceptional season. Krause finished 21-5 in singles, with a 13-2 mark in tournament play, while Fordham went 16-5 with the second-most singles wins on the team.

Together they compiled a 23-6 doubles record, going 11-3 in dual matches while playing exclusively at the top flight. The duo won 12 of their 15 tournament matches en route to their record-setting campaign.
