Victoria Wang of the New York University women's tennis team is representing the Violets at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup, which is being held in Rome, GA, Thursday-Sunday, October 16-19.
Wang, who progressed to the ITA Cup by placing runner-up at the ITA Regionals in early October, played her first match on Thursday and lost 6-2, 6-3 to Matia Cristiani from Babson College.
"Vic played hard and had some opportunities. The first two games went to no ad points that didn't go her way," Head Coach
Horace Choy explained. "Her opponent is the top seed for a reason; she used that and settled in making things hard for Vic. She continued to fight and had chances but it wasn't her day."
Wang has a chance to bounce back tomorrow when she plays Lucy Nabedrick from Trinity University (Texas).
That match is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am on Friday.
