New York University's golf team has completed two rounds of the Liberty League Championship, which is being held Friday-Sunday, April 28-20, at the par-72, 6,763-yard Shenendoah Golf Club at Turning Stone in Verona, NY.
The Violets, who have won the last three Liberty League titles, are in fifth place out of seven teams after the first 36 holes, shooting 299 on Friday and 301 on Saturday.
NYU is three strokes behind fourth-place St. Lawrence University and 12 strokes behind the leader, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
Charles Hsieh shot a one-under-par 71 on Saturday and is in sixth place individually. His two-day total of 146 leaves him only three strokes behind the individual leader, Joey Harrigan, of RPI (143).
After shooting 74 on Friday,
Kevin Kim carded a 76 on Saturday and is in 12th place.
Also among the top-20 for the Violets are
Rohan Aerrabolu (t-16th) and
Ryan Leung (t-20th)
Ishaan Shroff is also competing for NYU and is tied for 24th place.
Overall, there are 35 golfers in the tournament.
"Both our men's and women's teams are determined to have a strong showing tomorrow," said Head Coach
Katie Rudolph. "Both know what they need to do. I'm looking forward to watching them rise to the challenge."
Sunday's final round is set to begin at 10:00am.
