New York University's golf team completed round one of the Liberty League Championship on Friday at the par-72, 6,763-yard Shenendoah Golf Club at Turning Stone in Verona, NY.
The Violets, who have won the last three Liberty League titles, are in fifth place out of seven teams after the first 18 holes, shooting 299 which has them seven strokes behind a pair of teams tied for third.
Kevin Kim led the way for NYU today, carding a two-over 74 after a birdie on the final hole which is tied for 11th individually.
The Violets' three other scorers,
Charles Hsieh,
Rohan Aerrabolu and
Ishaan Shroff, are three of six golfers tied for 15th with a three-over 75.
Ryan Leung, NYU's fifth competitor, is tied for 26th after shooting 79 on the day. There are 35 golfers competing in the tournament.
NYU sits comfortably in fifth with a 20-stroke lead over sixth-place Clarkson University. RPI leads the field with 287 strokes, 12 better than the Violets.
Round two tees off tomorrow, April 29, at 12:00 p.m. from the Shenendoah Golf Club.
