Men's Golf Wraps Up Play at Jekyll Island

Hsieh ties for 25th to lead the Violets

Charles Hsieh notched his third top-25 finish of the season as New York University's men's golf team concluded the third and final round of the Jekyll Island Invitational on Sunday in Jekyll Island, GA at the par-72, 6,551-yard Oleander course at the Jekyll Island Golf Club.

Hsieh shot a one-over 73 today to improve by two places and tie for 25th out of 150 golfers. His three-round total of 218 tied with four others and was just one stroke behind a quartet tied for 24th.

Kevin Kim carded a 76 today, moving his total score to 228 which tied for 88th. Ryan Leung (135th, 241) and Jorge Montero (149th, 261) also competed for the Violets.

University Athletic Association (UAA) rival Emory University won the tournament by a wide margin, shooting a 22-under 842 to take first by 15 strokes.

NYU's team total of 932 was good for 28th, three behind 27th-place Skidmore College.

Meanwhile, 34 golfers competed in the Jekyll Island Individual Invitational with NYU's Ishaan Shroff tying for seventh with a three-day total of 231.

The Violets return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 2 and 3, at the Hershey Cup hosted by the University of Rochester in Hershey, PA.
