The New York University men's golf team finished in third place at the University Athletic Association Championship, which was held on Wednesday, October 18, at the Raven Golf Club in Miramar Beach, FL.
Competing in match play, NYU opened up the four-team tournament against top-seeded Emory University,
currently ranked #1 in the nation. In a match that went down to the very last holes, the Violets were defeated 3-2.
Jomyuth Luangtana-anan and
Ethan Yang both posted victories for NYU
In the third-place match, NYU was victorious over University of Rochester 2-1-2. Luangtana-anan and
Jorge Montero posted wins, while Yang and
Mark Zhang each played to a draw.
"We played really well today, and our match with Emory went right down to the wire," said Head Coach
Brad Johnson said. "They are top ranked, and to push them to the brink gives us a lot of confidence going forward."
The 2023 fall season is now over for the Violets, who next compete in March at the Jekyll Island Invitational.
