New York University's men's golf team completed round two of play at the Golfweek October Classic, which is being held at the Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, FL, Sunday-Tuesday, October 15-17.
The Violets shot 301 as a team in the second round over the par 71, 6,621-yard course, improving by five strokes over yesterday. They rose two spots and are now tied for 22nd place with Piedmont University and Gettysburg College with a total score of 607.
Kevin Kim replicated his opening-round score, a three-over par 74, and is tied for 49th place individually (148) along with teammate
Ethan Yang.
Mark Zhang improved by five strokes, shooting a 75 in round two, and is tied for 102nd place with a total score of 155.
Jomyuth Luangtana-anan (T-106th, 156) and
Jorge Montero (T-115th, 160) both improved by four strokes today as well.
There are 25 teams and 125 golfers competing in the tournament. Methodist University is currently in first place with a team score of 566.
The Violets trail 21st-place Wisconsin-Eau Claire by just one stroke entering round three.
The third and final round of competition at the Raven Golf Club tees off tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
