New York University's men's golf team shot 288 (+8) for the second consecutive day and finished in third place at the George Cangero Invitational, hosted by Farmingdale State College, in Farmingdale, NY, on Saturday and Sunday, September 17-18.
St. Thomas Aquinas College won the 10-team tournament, which was held at the par-70, 7,092-yard Bethpage State Park Red Course, with a 566 total over the two days.
The Violets' total of 576 was five strokes behind second-place Franklin & Marshall College and eight ahead of fourth-place Farmingdale.
Charles Hsieh shot a two-under-par 68 on Sunday after carding a two-over 72 on Saturday and finished in a tie for third place.
Kevin Kim, who shot a one-under-par 69 on Saturday, finished with a 72 on Sunday and tied for fifth place in the 60-player competition.
Arjun Malik and
Rohan Aerrabolu (who played as an individual) tied for 16th place at 147.
Daniel Fuller (individual) shot a one-over 71 on Sunday and tied for 22nd place (148).
Jorge Montero (149) and
Ethan Yang (150, tied for 24th and 26th, respectively.
The Violets return to the course for the NCAA Fall Preview in Lexington, KY, October 2-4.
