The New York University men's golf team completed the second and final round of the Duke Nelson Invitational, hosted by Middlebury College, on Sunday, September 11.
The two-day tournament was held at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, VT.
After shooting 304 on Saturday, the Violets lowered their total to 302 on Sunday, but dropped from a sixth-place tie to a ninth-place tie in the 24-team invitational.
Rensselear Polytechnic Institute (RPI) won the Invitational with a two-day score of 590, one stroke better than host Middlebury and Trinity College.
At 606, NYU tied with Skidmore College and finished one stroke behind Williams College and Endicott College.
Kevin Kim (148) was the Violets' low scorer, shooting four-over-par 75 on the par 71, 6,395-yard course on Sunday. His total for the weekend was good for a 12th-place tie in the 124-person competition.
Ethan Yang shot a one-over-par 72 on Sunday and also posted a top-20 finish as he tied for 19th place at 150. One stroke behind was
Charles Hsieh (151), who tied for 22nd.
Also competing for NYU was
Jorge Montero (158, T66) and
Ishaan Shroff (159, T68).
The Violets return to action next weekend when they compete in the George Cangero Invitational, hosted by Farmingdale State College in Farmingdale, NY, on Saturday and Sunday, September 17-18.
