A select number of New York University field team members competed at the Lions Outdoor Invitational, hosted by The College of New Jersey on Friday and Saturday, April 29-30, in Ewing, NJ.
Shot put, discus and javelin were the events men's and women's team members participated in on Saturday.
In the shot put, a pair of Violets just missed reaching their personal bests.
For the women,
Michelle Uvieghara recorded a throw of 37'1-1/4", just short of her PB of 38' 0". For the men,
Michael Mangual just missed his shot put PR (45'11-3/4"), registering a mark of 45'10".
Uvieghara also competed in the discus (32.99m).
In the men's discus, Mangual (34.35m),
Owen Mountford (41.79m) and
Viraj Gulati (30.80m) competed.
NYU's lone entrant in the men's javelin was
Rudra Amin, who recorded a mark of 40.10m.
Members of the two squads will next compete at the Tom Farrell Classic at St. Johns University in Jamaica, NY, on Saturday May 7.
