The New York University golf team is tied for sixth place after the first round of the Skidmore Fall Invitational, which is being played at the Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course in Saratoga Springs, NY, on Saturday and Sunday, October 8-9.
The Violets shot 307 on Saturday and are in a three-way tie with Endicott College and the University of Rochester.
Hamilton College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute are tied for first place (294) in the 14-team competition.
NYU's low scorer on Saturday was
Ethan Yang, who is tied for fifth place after shooting one-over par 73.
Ryan Leung is tied for 14th place (75), while
Charles Hsieh is tied for 18th (76).
Also scoring for NYU are
Daniel Fuller (83) and
Arjun Malik (85).
Overall, 80 golfers are competing.
The second and final round of the invitational will tee-off on Sunday morning.
