The 17th-ranked New York University men's golf team battled through a long weekend in Lexington, KY, through three rounds of the NCAA Fall Preview.
Competing against 17 other teams at the Keene Trace Golf Club, the Violets finished with a team score of 951 after three rounds, finishing 18th and trailing 17th-place host Transylvania University by six strokes.
Christopher Newport University took first with an 886, beating Methodist University, Wittenberg University, Washington & Lee University and Carnegie Mellon University all tied for second place at 900.
NYU rookie Arjun Malik held the lowest score for the Violets, playing a three-day total of 231 and tying for 42nd place out of 90 golfers.
Sophomore Kevin Kim shot 234, finishing in 57th, while sophomore Rohan Aerrabolu carded a 241 and placed 75th. Graduate student Jorge Montero rounded out NYU's scorers, totaling a three-round score of 245 for 80th place.
Rookie Ishaan Shroff also competed, totaling 253 and finishing in 83rd place.
The Violets return to the course on Saturday, October 8, for the Skidmore Invitational at Saratoga Springs, NY.
