Beardsley's Top-10 Finish Leads Way for Violets

The New York University men's track & field team competed at the University of Albany Invitational, held on Friday, February 7, at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY.

The best performance of the afternoon came from senior Carter Beardsley (Summit, NJ/Newark Academy), who placed eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 15.91m.

"The throwers were the highlight of the meet for us," Head Coach Erison Hurtault said.

On the oval, senior Julian Montilus (Mendham, NJ/West Morris Mendham) placed 23rd overall in the 60m hurdles, running 8.60. In distance, junior Dillan Spector (Montgomery, NJ/Montgomery) ran 4:35.90, good for 42nd place.

There was no team scoring at the meet.

The Violets return to competition next Saturday, February 15, when they head to Boston, MA, for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University.
