The New York University men's track & field team competed at the Terrier Invitational, hosted by Boston University in Boston, MA, on Saturday, January 25.
Freshman
David Obwaya (Blaine, MN/Blaine) was NYU's top performer, finishing eighth in the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.90. In the 60m, freshman
Kamden Martin (Canonsburg, PA/Canon McMillan) notched a 20th-place finish (7.24).
Meanwhile, in the distance races, senior
Ben Karam (New York, NY/Xavier) led the Violets with a 45th-place finish in the mile in a personal-best 4:15.31.
In the field events, sophomore
Owen Mountford (Mountain View, CA/Mountain View ) had NYU's top marks in the shot put and weight throw. His mark of 13.34m was good for 23rd place in the shot, and he threw 13.25m in the weight throw (27th place).
The meet included athletes from both Divisions I and III, as well as unattached competitors.
The Violets return to competition next Friday, January 31, when they participate in both the NYC DIII Invitational at the Armory in Manhattan, and the Metropolitan Championships at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Athletic Complex in Staten Island.
