Three new faces will be roaming the sidelines for the New York University women's volleyball team during the 2010 season.

Sarah Fleming, Agnieszka Pregowska and Lauren Ditscheit have all been hired as assistant coaches for the Violets.

“Sarah, Agnieszka and Lauren will all bring a tremendous amount of experience to our program,” said interim head coach Chris Pinto.  “All three had successful college careers and are excited to continue in college athletics.  I look forward to everything that they will bring to NYU women's volleyball.”

Fleming comes to NYU after serving last season as the head coach for the girls' volleyball and basketball teams at New York City's Churchill High School. Before her stint at Churchill she spent the 2008-09 academic year as an assistant volleyball coach at John Jay College in Manhattan.

A 2008 graduate of Providence College with Bachelor of Arts degrees in sociology and women's studies, Fleming was a four-year starter and two-year captain with the Friars'  women's volleyball team.  As a senior, she was named All-Independent First Team, MVP of the Fourth Annual Friar Classic, and to the NJIT Halloween Classic and Division I Independent Tournament All-Tournament teams.  As a junior, Fleming was named to the Hartford Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Fleming, who also served as a resident assistant at Providence and as a head coach at the Play Hard Sports Camp in Hallock, MN, is a native of St. Paul, MN, and is a New York City resident.

Pregowska joins the Violets' coaching staff after spending the 2009 season as an assistant coach at her alma mater, the New Jersey Institute of Technology.  She helped the Highlanders post a 17-11 overall record and a 7-5 mark in the Great West Conference, which earned the squad the third seed in the league playoffs.

A May 2010 graduate of NJIT with a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture and a minor in international marketing, Pregowska twice received Division I All-Independent honors.  As a freshman, she was named First Team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and was selected the Highlanders' MVP.  Pregowska graduated as the school's record holder in five Division I season and career categories: career games played (359), games played in a season (140), blocks in a season (111), career points (790.5), and points in a season (462).

Pregowska is a native of Warsaw, Poland, and currently resides in Bridgewater, NJ.

Ditscheit comes to NYU after a successful four-year playing career as a setter at Division I Loyola University in Chicago.  A team captain with the Ramblers, she was named a top-three finalist for the 2009-10 Honda Inspiration Award and was the school's nominee for the 2010 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.  As a senior, the Loyola athletic department and training staff presented her with the Chicago Virtues Award, given to the student-athlete who overcame adversity and strived to succeed in athletics and academics.

A May 2010 graduate of Loyola with Bachelor of Arts degrees in advertising and public relations, Ditscheit is currently a graduate trainee on the account/research team at the Chandler Chicco Agency in New York.

A native of Wauwatosa, WI, Ditscheit currently resides in Manhattan.
