Three members of the New York University women's volleyball team have been honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA), which announced its All-UAA selections on Tuesday, November 18.
Coco Barton and Ava Launsbach notched Second Team honors.
Casey Cho was named Co-Rookie of the Year alongside Ellie Maxwell from the University of Chicago.
Barton has had a strong junior season, compiling 165 kills in 31 matches played. Her defensive performance has been just as strong with a team-leading 121.0 total blocks on the season, including 18 solo and 103 assisted.
Launsbach also had a stellar season, becoming only the fourth Violet to surpass 2000 career assists. The Violets are currenlty 19-11, with Launsbach appearing in every match and leading the squad in digs (229) and assists (656). She also has 38 service aces, ranking third on the team.
Cho has appeared in 21 matches during her freshman season, collecting 94 kills including a career high 10 against WashU on November 15. She served up seven aces and matched that defensively with 7.0 total blocks.
The Violets' season continues in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament this week when they travel to Middletown, CT, and take on host Wesleyan University (CT) in a first-round match-up on Thursday, November 20, at 7:00pm.
