Women's Volleyball Earns NCAA Tournament Bid

Violets Travel to Wesleyan (CT) For Opening Round

The New York University women's volleyball team has earned an at-large bid to the Division III NCAA Tournament.

The Violets' first-round opponent will be host Wesleyan University (CT) on Thursday at 7:00pm. NYU faced the Cardinals earlier this season on October 5 and dropped a three-set contest.

After finishing the regular season with a 17-10 record, the Violets took third place at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship. NYU defeated Emory University in the opening round of the tournament and knocked off the University of Chicago in the third-place match.

This is now the Violets' fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, all of which have been under Head Coach Andrew Brown

"I'm so proud of this group's resolve and continued investment in each other," said Brown. "They have battled through tons of adversity with such poise and grace and this opportunity only makes them more invested in each other."

NYU has had great success in its recent postseason appearances, winning at least one match in each of its last four trips to the tournament and clinching back-to-back national semifinal appearances in 2022 and 2023.
