Track & Field Continues Outdoor Season at Princeton Invitational

The New York University men's and women's track and field teams opened the final stretch of the outdoor season on the first day of May.

Qualifying Violets made their way to New Jersey for the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton University, May 1-2. Five of the NYU distance runners were in action on Friday evening.

Liam Hagerty took first in the Men's 5000m final as the lone Division III runner in the event. The junior recorded a career-best 14:28.08 on Friday night to lead the field.

Janie Cooper posted a season-best mark in the Women's 5000m Final, taking fourth place in 16:52.73.

Earlier in the evening, Julian Aske took the track for the second time this season, taking seventh in his 800m heat in 1:53.21.
Huckleberry Oakes (3:53.97) also took seventh in his heat, running in the 1500m final.

The Violets will close out the weekend with split squads on Saturday, May 2, finishing out the Larry Ellis Invitational and competing at the Tom Farrell Classic, hosted on campus by St. John's University.
