Three New York University student athletes have earned weekly honors following their stellar performances over the past week.
Emerson Evans and
BoJameson Ebeling of the men's volleyball team were named Co-United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, while
Kaley McIntyre of women's swimming and diving was tabbed a University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week.
The
#8-ranked men's volleyball team won two of its three matches last week, with Evans posting 59 total kills on .283 hitting. After registering 18 kills against #2 Stevens Institute of Technology on Tuesday, the junior right side hitter tallied 20-kill performances against both Ramapo and St. John Fisher on Saturday. His top performance of the week came in the UVC opener against St. John Fisher in which he collected 21 kills on .390 hitting.
Ebeling starred in NYU's win over Ramapo. The freshman finished the match with 14 kills on an astounding .737 hitting. He also added a pair of serving aces and four total blocks.
McIntyre was named the UAA Women's Swimmer of the Year after winning every final she swam in: 800 free relay, 200 free relay, 50 free, 400 medley relay, 200 free, 100 free, and 400 free relay. She set UAA records in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free relay, and 800 free relay while also breaking a 15-year Division III record in the 200 freestyle. Her efforts lifted
#3-ranked NYU to their first UAA Championship in program history.
