Two New York University student-athletes have been named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athletes of the Week following their stellar performances this past weekend.
Chloe Hynes of women's volleyball and
Mia Capo of women's soccer were honored.
Hynes helped lead the
#23 Violets to three victories at the NYU Home-Opener Invitational on Friday and Saturday. She had a season-high 17 kills (and only two errors) in a win over Gallaudet on Friday and added 11 more (with only two errors) in a victory over Steven on Saturday. NYU also defeated Susquehanna on Saturday with Hynes registering two kills.
For the three matches, Hynes totaled 30 kills and a .511 hitting percentage while adding five digs and five blocks. NYU is now 4-2 this season.
Capo posted a shutout on Sunday and a victory on Saturday as the
#17 Violets went 1-0-1 over the weekend. In Sunday's 0-0 draw with Arcadia, Capo recorded four saves. In Saturday's 4-2 win over #20 The College of New Jersey, she totaled five saves.
The Violets are now 2-1-1 this season.
