Two New York University student-athletes have made the 2025 Academic All-America Team, as announced by the College Sports Communicators of America.
Zach Knudsen of men's volleyball and
Cooper Pontelandolfo of wrestling have both made the Second Team All-America. It is Knudsen's second consecutive season earning the honor.
Knudsen adds the prestige to a long list of accolades earned on the 2025 season, including United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Libero/Specialist of the Year and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region II. The senior helped lead the Violets to back-to-back UVC titles and a 26-1 record.
The runner-up in the 157-pound class at the NCAA Championships this past year, Pontelandolfo closed out his illustrious career with the third-most career wins (131) in program history. He was also recognized as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Wrestler of the Year for a third straight season.
