The
#4 ranked New York University women's cross country team finished eighth out of 15 teams at the Jasper Fall XC Invitational 6K hosted by Manhattan College on September 13, in Montgomery, NY.
The Violets were the top finisher among the three Division III schools at the meet and finished above four Division I universities.
Lindsay Guthrie and
Katharine Frank led the way for the Violets, taking 39th and 40th place, respectfully. Guthrie finished with a time of 22:32.9 while Frank finished three seconds behind her at 22:35.9.
Isabel Liu clocked in at 22:52.1 placing 45th, while
Sophie Liu was close behind in 51st and logged a time of 22:56.3.
Kate Carnes rounded out the scoring for the Violets, coming in 87th place and recording a time of 24:00.4.
Also competing for NYU was
Rachel Newman (24:23.4), who finished 103rd overall.
The Violets are back in action on Friday, October 3, in Bethlehem, PA, competing in the Paul Short Invite hosted by Lehigh University.
